PLACEMENT OF MICROCHIP

PLACEMENT OF MICROCHIP

If the reptile species that are kept as pets are protected by the Washington Convention (CITES) the owners are, under law, responsible for the individual identification of their animals. This is usually solved by placing a so-called microchip in a certain place under the skin of the animal. With this microchip they get an individual identification number that can be read all their life with a microchip reader anywhere in the world. The proper placement of these microchips are regulated in every animal species. You can find further information about microchips in the Knowledge base.
