TREATMENT OF URINARY DISEASES
The most frequent symptoms of urinary diseases are an increased water intake, increased or more frequent urination, or exactly the opposite, a lack of urination which is preceded by staining, painful urination of small amounts or droplets. In some cases the urine can have a different color, can contain blood, or there can be droplets of blood after urination. Another symptom can be if the cat doesn’t use the litter anymore, but urinates next to it or in other unusual places. Timely diagnosis can be more difficult if the cat doesn’t show any symptoms in the beginning, which is frequently the case in the early stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in older cats. This is why regular screenings are essential, especially in older patients.
