GERIATRIC SCREENING

GERIATRIC SCREENING

Every cat should be examined by a veterinarian at least once a year, but above 7 years of age this becomes even more important. From this age certain illnesses become more common, for example high blood pressure (which can be a result of other illnesses), chronic kidney disease, hyperthyroidism and the development of tumors. In addition to a physical examination, a geriatric blood work and urine analysis are recommended. We remind the owners of our regular cat patients of this, but we welcome new patients for geriatric screening and consultations at our appointments.
